If you are currently in one of these positions and want to it again next year, please let me know. If you would like to run or be appointed to one of these, also please let me know.
I’ll put the meeting reminder signs up this weekend, and I hope to see all of you on Tuesday!
Thanks –

Instead of us picking YOM this month, let’s get together and pick it as a neighborhood! I’d like to award the December Yard of the Month this Sunday to the best Holiday decorated yard. Why don’t we meet at the entrance to Chew Park on the 1700 block of Lexington at 6 PM? We’ll walk all the blocks and decide as a group which is the best “yard” for December. We’ll walk down west down Lexington, turn right and walk up Norfolk to the east, with a final turn left to walk down Portsmouth. After that, we’ll vote on the best of the best.
Take this weekend to deck out your yard in your finest Holiday decorations!
I’ll see you on Sunday at 6 PM, and I warn you – caroling might break out, and cookies along the way will not be turned away.
I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Just a reminder that our next scheduled General Meeting will be Tuesday, December 7th, at 7 PM. The meeting will be held at Zoe’s Kitchen. Elections will be held the following month, on January 11th.
If you are interested in running for any position on the Richwood Place Board, I encourage you to attend the meeting this month. We will be going over what each position entails, and what we can do as a neighborhood to strengthen our visibility and cohesiveness.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Please join us to kick off the holiday season, meet your neighbors and escape from the holiday shopping!

Upcoming Oct 30 Neartown Development Forum III
Saturday, October 30th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Neartown Development Forum III will take place tomorrow, Saturday, October 30th, 9 a.m – 1 p.m. at St. Stephen’s church Pecore Hall. St. Stephen’s Church is located at 1805 W. Alabama. Please participate!
We will reconvene with Metro and HEB for a public meeting intended to update the community on the status of the University Line and the grocery store development at West Alabama and Dunlavy.
According to a recent Neartown email…
The Buffalo Bayou Partnership invites Houstonians to review the organization’s preliminary Master Plan for the Shepherd to Sabine stretch of Buffalo Bayou. The community meetings will take place Wednesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 14, from 6-8 pm at the United Way of Greater Houston Community Resource Center, 50 Waugh Drive, Houston 77007 . The meetings are co-sponsored with Super Neighborhood #22. Both meetings will follow the same format and no reservations are required.
The October 13 and 14 meetings follow a series of gatherings held in June where the public shared their ideas and recommendations for enhancing the Shepherd to Sabine parkland, one of Houston’s most iconic landscapes.
“We have listened to the public input that we received at our earlier community meetings and have incorporated many of the ideas into the preliminary master plan,” explains Anne Olson, Buffalo Bayou Partnership President. “The upcoming meetings will give the public the opportunity to review the preliminary design and provide additional feedback.”
In addition to seeking the public’s input on the preliminary master plan, Buffalo Bayou Partnership representatives will be providing updates on numerous projects recently completed or currently underway along the Shepherd to Sabine segment, including:
· Harris County Flood Control District “pilot project” that has restored a small stretch of the bayou channel to a more natural condition
· Construction of a new pedestrian bridge and trails connecting to nearby neighborhoods
· City of Houston and TxDOT rebuilding of the three-decades-old bike trails that have fallen into disrepair

Montrose residents will select their favorite of three designs for the H-E-B store planned at Dunlavy and Alabama streets at the next Neartown Development Forum.
Neartown Development Forum III will take place Saturday, October 30, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 1805 W. Alabama St. The public meeting will also include a METRO update on the University Line.
I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks tonight to everyone who helped make this year’s National Night Out such a great success. Daniel & Jennifer – thank you so much for offering up your house; Joseph – your grilling was delicious; Andy – thank you for having all the right stuff; Larry – thank you for going on that “beer run”; and to all our neighbors and friends who attended – thank you all for coming and bringing great food, great conversation, and great memories – this truly was the best National Night Out ever I’ve ever had the pleasure to attend! Much thanks.
